L'émotion qui surgit soudain au beau milieu d'une chanson est une alchimie aussi étrange qu'inexplicable. Au fil du temps, il apparaît que ces excitations irrépressibles ou ces soudaines envies de pleurer n'obéissent à aucune règle, aucune recette, aucune ficelle. Ce peut être une mélodie, un enchaînement d'accords, un son, un cri. Dans Half Sister, c'est juste un changement d'harmonie savamment amené par une petite phrase toute simple et merveilleuse de basse sur fond d'accord dissonant de guitare, qui fait de cette chanson l'une de celles qui me touchent le plus de toute la new wave.
